Dataviz: once you try it, you’ll want it!

Expert article

1 year already since the release of the new Topkapi module: Dataviz. Heard about it but haven’t tried it yet? Wondering whether to take the plunge? Need more information? Here’s a quick rundown of what you might have missed.

The latest addition to Topkapi’s list of integrated modules: the Dataviz (data visualisation) module allows you to create dynamic, customised dashboards to present your strategic indicators. The aim is to make your data easier to read.

Frédéric Wafflart, AREAL's Director of Business Development, tells us more.

A new Dataviz module: why, and who is it aimed at?

“AREAL designed the Dataviz module in response to a problem encountered in all activity sectors: making the best use of growing amounts of data. We know that our customers are facing an ever-increasing volume of information. How can this data be processed and analysed? How can we make it easier to use on a day-to-day basis, and use it to make decisions? It was with these challenges in mind that we came up with the idea of integrating this powerful Dataviz tool into our Topkapi supervision software.”

Is Dataviz a gadget or not?

“Dataviz enables us to produce relevant indicators for each business. Everyone can format their dashboards to highlight the operational information they need. More than a “cosmetic” module, it is a genuine tool to help analyse the information collected from instrumented technical equipment. It makes it directly usable. Dataviz is your best ally for fast, efficient decision-making.”

Does Dataviz integrated into SCADA offer real added value?

“Of course! It clearly makes a difference, being totally integrated into Topkapi. There’s no need to connect yet another tool to convert your data into operational indicators and format it. Product dashboards become a natural and essential extension of your traditional supervision interfaces. Ultimately, it not only saves time on the initial configuration once you’ve mastered the tool, but also helps to optimise day-to-day operations and investment strategies.”
