Interoperability is the basis of our business. Topkapi is regularly enriched with new communication protocols to make it easier for you to configure your applications.

Acquisition function
Over the years, AREAL has worked to develop a large number of communication protocols to offer you optimal integration of equipment from all horizons in its Topkapi software platform. Because a so-called "native" protocol facilitates the parameterisation and integration of your equipment within your software platform as opposed to using an additional software overlay, we regularly enrich our industrial supervision solution with new protocols. Nevertheless, it is always possible to use a third party solution such as an OPC server when the protocol linked to the chosen equipment is not native to Topkapi.
Acquisition by OPC server (DA or UA)
If the column "SUPPORT" in the table below indicates "OPC server", you must purchase a suitable OPC server, not supplied with the Topkapi software platform.
Communication front-end Topkapi
Topkapi can be used as an OPC DA server for all the protocols mentioned below to serve data to third-party applications. For protocols where "OPC Server" is mentioned in the SUPPORT column, this is generally not relevant (except in special cases) since an OPC server is also available. For time-stamped protocols, Topkapi integrates modem communication and data logging into any SQL-compatible DBMS system (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.).
Scriptable protocol
The scriptable protocol is an open and interoperable data acquisition protocol to meet the challenges of integrating multi-source data into Topkapi. Because there are no standard data exchange connectors in the fields of IoT, Web Services, etc., AREAL wanted to offer an acquisition protocol that you can customise but requires computer coding.
