"Did you know? The Report module is an option in the Topkapi supervision software used on more than 50% of licences sold. Historically used to generate time-delayed reports - most commonly in Excel - it has been enhanced over the years with new functions. I'd like to take a look at some of these features in this article.
The heart of Topkapi's Report module is a powerful calculation engine. This enables the raw data acquired by the supervision system to be transformed into operational business data used by operators. Simple calculations, multivariate calculations that can be derived from different data sources, calculations on data sampled by the supervision system, calculations on time-stamped data at source... many possibilities are available to make the most of the raw data.
Calculations can be performed "on the fly" to display information in synoptics in the form of curves, for example. It is also possible to perform calculations periodically and then archive them in the supervision system.
Average, minimum, maximum, cumulative time, average duration, average deviation and others - there are many calculation functions available. For an exhaustive list of functions, our brochure dedicated to the Report module is available to download from our Documentation page.
Once the data has been aggregated, it can be connected to presentation templates to produce, for example, operating reports, regulatory reports, production monitoring reports, etc. The choice of format is yours: Excel, html, text, pdf. Since version V6.2 of Topkapi, the Report module can also be used to prepare the data that will then be used by the Dataviz module, which can be used to create interactive dashboards.
